This book is a tribute to the acclaimed folk artist from North Georgia, Billy Roper, whose work significantly contributes to Appalachian culture and traditions. The book was written by Dr. Pamela Sachant, a distinguished Professor of Art History at North Georgia State University. It features 35 of Roper’s paintings, along with a collection of stories and a few drawings. Notably, the book was published as the inaugural publication of the University Press of North Georgia.
