A Week in Texas

Experimental Artist Book Series

The enduring border crisis between the United States and Mexico holds a rich history, marked by political conflict, social challenges, and a fertile ground for creative expression. During my visit to a border region near Big Bend National Park, I was deeply moved by the daily influx of Mexican commuters to the United States, who sold handcrafted walking sticks, water, and Mexican goods. I was awed by the many complicated layers of meaning and tension that the borders in the desert represent. This project stands as a tribute to the individuals who perilously cross the border in pursuit of their livelihood, acknowledging their resilience and sacrifices.
